Howard J Kaiser, 72, of Sugar Creek, MO, a passionate man with a heart full of love and a genuine zest for life, passed away on November 19, 2023. Born Karl-Heinz Jurgen Tauber on July 11, 1951, in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, Germany, Howard lived a life marked by compassion, culinary expertise, and unwavering dedication to his passions. Howard moved to the United States as a young child, first to Kansas City, later settling in Waynesboro, Virginia. He attended high school at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston University. Howard went on to have an accomplished career in sales, retiring from Stone Container in 2009. Howard held numerous other roles that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Scuba diving was a beloved pastime for Howard. He found solace beneath the waves, particularly when exploring the enchanting waters of East End in Grand Cayman, which he affectionately referred to as "Our Blue Heaven", sharing countless memorable experiences with his loving wife.
Howard was known as an amateur chef among family and friends, renowned for his signature dishes which included Thanksgiving Dinner and chowder. Howard's passion for food extended beyond the kitchen; he enjoyed dining out at some of his favorite restaurants such as Tukka’s and Yoshi Sushi in Grand Cayman. However, nothing brought him more delight than treating himself to the delectable chocolate bag from McCormick and Schmick's. A green thumb by nature, Howard found peace in tending his garden. With meticulous care, he nurtured an array of plants that flourished under his watchful eye. The vibrant colors and fragrant blooms were a testament to not only his gardening skills but also his ability to bring beauty into the world. Reading was yet another avenue through which Howard sought knowledge and inspiration. Whether engrossed in political literature or indulging in captivating novels, he found solace and intellectual stimulation in the pages of well-written books. One of Howard's proudest accomplishments was managing bands in his younger years. His passion for music and talent for organizing unforgettable performances brought joy to countless individuals who were fortunate enough to witness these magical musical moments. Howard's love and compassion extended beyond his personal endeavors. He was a devoted family man who held deep affection for his wife of 29 years, Jean Kaiser (neé Novak), with whom he shared a profound bond. He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce A. Kaiser; mother, Helen Tauber; father-in-law, Jerry Novak; and mother-in-law, Katherine Novak. Howard is survived by his son, Brian (Samantha) Kaiser and dear nephew Michael (Alisha) Dye, as well as countless nieces and nephews. As a doting grandfather and great-uncle, Howard cherished the precious moments spent with his granddaughter Eleanor (Ellie; 8), grandson Sebastian (2), great-nephew Eli (19), great-niece Faith (13), and great-niece Grace (7). Their laughter filled the rooms of their home, creating memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Howard is also survived by three sisters, Sandy Kaiser, Judy Kaiser, and Mary Kaiser, and one brother, Michael Kaiser, sister-in-law Karen Novak, and brothers-in-law Randy Novak and Paul Gowing. He will also be missed by his favorite dog, Cookie. Having departed this world far too soon, Howard's absence will be profoundly felt by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. However, amidst our grief, let us also celebrate the vibrant tapestry of memories he has left behind—a testament to a life lived passionately and filled with unwavering love.
