Dennis “Denny” B. Howell, 90, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 21, 2013. Services will be 10 am, Monday, Aug. 26 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment with Full Military Honors at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208. Denny was born June 30, 1923 in Harrison County, AR. He was a U.S Army veteran of WW II where he served in the Corps of Engineers in Europe. He was a driver for Cook Paint Co. for thirty-five years and retired in 1985. He then worked at National Warehouse for twelve years. He was also a local musician who played bass and rhythm guitar in country bands in the KC. area for many years. .He was a Lifetime Member of VFW Post #1000, Eagles Lodge Sugar Creek and Teamsters Local #541. Denny was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years Christina Howell, of the home; step-daughter Diana C. Edmundson and husband Greg, Oak Grove, MO; granddaughter “Jessi Boo” Locke, Independence, MO; grandson Gregory D. Edmundson, Oak Grove, MO: sister-in-law Janie “Sissy” Branson and husband James “Jimbo”, Independence, MO and many nieces and nephews.
