Kenneth Howerton

Kenneth Howerton, 92, of Independence, MO passed away April 26, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be from 12-1pm, May 2, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1pm in the chapel. Burial with full Military Honors will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. Kenneth was born on September 24, 1924in Kansas City, Mo to Charles and Clara (Sharp) Howerton. He was a proud Veteran, serving in the navy during WWII. Kenneth worked for many years as a sheet metal worker for Performance Contractors. He enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and traveling to Florida. Survivors include; son Steve Howerton and his wife Diana; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife who passed away in March 2017, daughter Cathy Howerton; 1 great granddaughter and 2 great great grandsons.
