Roberta was born on May 1, 1933, in Lexington, Missouri, to Frank and Erva Lampton. She attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Duane Huckabey, and to this union, Milton, Shenelda, Lorraine, Lynnetta and Kenda. Throughout their childhood, Roberta sewed all of their clothing. For many dedicated years, Roberta worked in food service for public schools, but her true passion was devoting her whole life taking care of her special little girl, Kenda. Roberta took great pride in her family. Together, Roberta and Kenneth would sing, entertain and perform concerts, with Kenda closing with her signature tambourine ensemble. Roberta enjoyed doing family country shows called "The Huckabee’s," especially singing duets with her husband. They were in several Bluegrass bands also. From sleepovers to making homemade pancakes, she loved doing any and everything with her grandchildren. Her grand-dog, Kobe, shared a strong bond with Roberta. She was a great cook and hostess, who always made everyone feel right at home. In her spare time, Roberta enjoyed yodeling, painting and tending to her flowers. She was a night owl and would stay up late to watch her favorite Hallmark actor, Wes Brown. With a big sweet tooth, you could always find Roberta with her favorite treat, cherry mash. She was such a bubbly and outgoing woman, who never met a stranger. She enjoyed taking mini excursions with her friend, Sandra and talking on phone with her neighbor and close friend, Jackie. Roberta will always be remembered as a selfless and kind woman, who never held a grudge and she will be deeply missed by many.
