Florence Irene Huddleston (Leahy)

Florence Irene (Leahy) Huddleston, 99 years old, passed away October 29, 2022 at Independence Manor Care Center. Her childhood was spent on farms in Iowa with her mom, dad, and eight siblings. During WWII she worked at Sunflower Ammunition Plant in DeSoto, Kansas. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 38 years as a long distance telephone operator. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George, daughter Patricia Brady, and eight siblings. She is survived by her daughter Norma (Mike) Higbee, grandchildren; Chris Brady, Caroline Brady, Jeff (Cynthia) Higbee, Jane (Chris) Whiting, Jill ( Sean) Aikmus, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and rosary will take place at 11:30am with funeral mass following at 12:15pm on November 3, 2022 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (10113 E Lexington Ave. Independence, MO) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sisters of St Francis (2100 N Noland Rd.
