William “Bill” K. Huff, 70, of Kansas City (North), MO passed away July 25, 2016 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Suburban Chapel. Bill was born June 3, 1946 in Hannibal, MO to Dean William and Elma L. (Brower) Huff. In 1961, he earned his Eagle Scout. Bill was a graduate of WCHS in 1964, and then went on to earn his bachelor of teaching from CMSU. He taught school at Fort Osage High School, and then joined KCPD in 1972. He worked over 26 years for KCPD, 10 of those years as a motorcycle officer. In 1990, he married Jean Ann Kirscher. After retiring from the KCPD, he joined the JCCC PD. Bill was a founding member of Men of Honor Bass Club, which began in 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean William Huff. Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Ann (Kirscher) Huff of the home; two sons, Christopher W. Huff (Tracy) of Independence, MO and Kevin D. Huff (Paige) of Longmont, CO; mother, Elma L. Huff of Independence, MO; sister, Denise Shockey (Steve) of Lee’s Summit; and four granddaughters.
