Dennis Michael Huffman

Dennis Michael Huffman, 76, of Independence MO, passed away on October 22, 2021 at home. He was born to Dorothy and Joseph Huffman on June 9, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO. He graduated from Benton High School and attended Missouri Western College in St. Joseph. He served in the US Army from 1965-1967, including time in Korea. Dennis worked for Shore Tire for 28 years before retiring in 2014. He was an avid sports fan as he and his son had Kansas City Chiefs season tickets for many years and he loved watching the Royals and Missouri Tigers play. He also really enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete and perform. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Abundant Life Church at the pantry. He was a member of Abundant Life Church in Lee's Summit, MO. Above all Dennis was a very committed family man, adored by all. He is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Joseph Huffman, and brothers Gary, David, and Donald Huffman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda, son Sean (Michelle) Huffman, Lee's Summit, MO, daughter Whitney (David) Landsteiner, Claremont, MN, grandchildren Trevor, Ethan, Jaden, Cayman, Carly, Chace, Avery, and Alivia, and sisters JoAnn Boling and Teresa Huffman, St. Joseph, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial with full military honors will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel.
