Betty Lou (Meyer) Humbird, 79, Odessa, MO passed away July 27, 2007. Services will be 10 am, Wed., Aug. 1, 2007 at Speaks Buckner Chapel; interment at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born June 19, 1928 in Sweet Springs, MO. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church of Christ, Emma, MO. She was a school cook in the Ft. Osage District for 15 years before retiring in 1977. Betty enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, gardening and especially her grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Donald Humbird on June 26, 2007, and by sisters Fredonia Roepe, Francis Sacina, LaVerna Russell, Pearl Simmons, Louella Miskell; brothers Ervin Meyer and Clifford Meyer. She is survived by daughter Rhonda Vaoifi and husband Oli, Buckner, MO; sons Terry Humbird and wife Sharon; Patrick Humbird and wife Pam, all of Sibley, MO; brother Raymond “Dick” Meyer, Sweet Springs, MO; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
