Cheri Lynn Hunt (Barker)

Cheri Lynn Hunt, 54, of Independence, MO passed away December 15, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am Monday, December 21, 2015 at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Cheri was born July 23, 1961 in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, CA to Cecil Dean and Clara (Baker) Barker. They relocated to Independence where she attended William Chrisman High School. She married Bob Hunt on February 23, 1980, and from their 17 year union came three wonderful children. She was a dedicated caregiver who worked in numerous nursing homes as well as tenderly cared for her own parents in their final days. Cheri also enjoyed being outside in nature, gardening, and creating floral arrangements. Above all she loved and doted on her children, grandchildren, and family. They remember her as sweet, caring, selfless, and feisty in her own way. Cheri is loved and will be missed by many. Survivors include son, Bobby Hunt of Liberty, MO; son, Chad Everett Hunt, Sr. (Missy) of Kearney, MO; daughter, Mandy Hunt of Kearney, MO; beloved grandchildren, Skylar Peterson, Colton Brown, Leslee Lynn (her namesake), Chad E. Hunt, Jr., and Axton Allen Hunt; sister, Carmella Swaim (Brian) of the Middle East; sister, Cindy Hegarty (Mickey) of Oak Grove, MO; brother, Terry L. Barker, Sr. of Independence; and sister, Christy Roberts (David) of Independence; and former husband, Bob Hunt (Kelly) of Holt, MO.
