Ronald Hunt

Ronald “Ron” Hunt, 77, Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 10-11:30 AM, Saturday, Sept. 22 at Lee’s Summit Community of Christ, 1101 NE Independence Ave., Lee’s Summit, MO 64086, with services beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either Lee’s Summit Community of Christ or the American Diabetes Association.
Ron was born December 21, 1929 in Adrian, MO to the late Claude and Ruth (Davis) Hunt. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1948, finishing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1981. Ron was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army from 1951-1953. He worked for Ford Motor Company in the Tractor Division for 23 years, retiring in 1987. During that time he also maintained and farmed 180 acres near Cameron, MO. After his retirement, Ron enjoyed volunteer work and spending time in Texas during the winter. Ron was a life-long member of the Community of Christ, serving in various capacities.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra (Wood) Hunt, daughter, Monica Ellison and husband Mack, son, Steve Deike and wife Annie, daughter, Mary Ahmed and husband Sam, sister, Beth Dains, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Hazel Underwood.
