Bonita Hunter

May 20, 1947 — March 6, 2014

Bonnie C. Hunter (Waters-Jewell) 66, passed away peacefully March 6, 2014 at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, Missouri. Bonnie was born to Roger and Lou Gene Waters of Hamilton Missouri on May 20, 1947. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1965. She then went on to receive her Bachelors from CMSU in 1969 and her Masters from Webster University in 1991. Bonnie was an award winning Elementary school teacher and retired from the Blue Springs school district in 2003. She had for passion teaching children. She had a strong faith and belief in Christ.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Lou Gene and her husband Steve Millett; father, Roger and his wife Francis Waters. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years Robert Hunter; son Brice Jewell; daughter Keri Lengemann and her husband Jason; step children, John Hunter, Sebastian and his wife Kasi Hunter; grandchildren, Kaden and Avery Jewell, Tyler, Maddy and Emma Lengemann, and Mia Hunter; sisters Marla and her husband Tom Reichert, Kim and her husband Jeff Daniels; brother, Jim Waters; sister, Wendy Gittleman; brothers, Gary and Jerry Baker; nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Caleb, Seth, Mackenzie, Aubry and Justin. Bonnie’s primary hobby and joy was spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing, tennis and being outside in nature with wildlife. She was a devoted fan of The Royals and Chiefs.

Visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Inurnment services will be held at the VA cemetery in Higginsville, MO. on March 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
