Brooke Renee Hurley, 39 of Grain Valley, MO passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Grain Valley Sports League. Brooke was born March 21, 1983 in Independence, MO to William Douglas and Connie Elaine (Bright) Gibb and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Truman High School in 2001 and had later attended Metropolitan Community College where she held Associate degrees in business and nursing. She was a registered nurse and had worked at a pediatrician office and Children’s Mercy Hospital and had most recently been a school nurse at the Independence School District. She enjoyed watching football, had played high school softball and most of all watching her kid’s school and sporting events. Nursing was a second career for Brooke and she really enjoyed helping people. She was a huge advocate for people suffering from the long term effects of Covid. She is survived by; her husband, Brian Hurley of the home; 2 sons, Blake and Brody Hurley of the home; her mother, Connie Gibb of Blue Springs, MO; her father, William “Doug” Gibb and Connie Fortner of Lenexa, KS; a twin sister, Lindsey White and husband Jason of Olathe, KS and 2 nieces, Fallon and Vaughn White.
