Hursel Hurt

Hursel B. “Speedy” Hurt, 91, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 24, 2012. Visitation will be 11am – noon, Friday, Oct, 26 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave,. Independence, MO 64052, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 pm at Mount Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Vitas Hospice, 4041 S. Lynn Ct., Drive 300, Independence, MO 64055.
Speedy was born Sept. 4, 1921 in Ozark County, MO to Elmer and Alma (Seivert) Dunnegan. She and her husband, Bill, have lived in Independence most of their lives and bowled in leagues at the Strike n’ Spare on 40 Highway for many years. She also enjoyed helping in the family vegetable garden. She was a member of Fairmont Christian Church since 1965.
Speedy was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Bill Hurt, of the home; nieces Linda Mesh and husband Mike, Louisburg, KS; Janice Locke, Mountain Grove, MO; Marsha Brown, Theodesha, MO; June Carrender, Kingsburg, CA and several other nieces and nephews
