Rita Marie Hutman (Stallbories)

Rita M. Hutman, 93, Kansas City, MO passed away Feb. 24, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, March 1 at St. Catherine of Sienna, 4101 E. 105th Terr., Kansas City, MO 64137; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Rosary will begin at 5:00 pm, Thursday followed by visitation from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the church. The family requests contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138.
Rita was born Dec. 24, 1925 in Independence, MO and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna since 1954 and was a Sacristan, a member of the Altar Society and volunteered for funeral dinners during her many years there. She was an expert seamstress who made most of her daughter’s wedding gowns. She was a volunteer in the laundry at Little Sisters of the Poor for twenty-two years, six days a week and was a member of the Association Jeanne Jugan. She was a huge Chiefs fan. Most of all she loved her family and always had big Holiday celebrations and birthday parties for them.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband John T. Hutman Jr., son Paul Hutman, daughter Theresa Benson and grandsons Sebastian Becker and Clinton Hutman; great-grandsons Francis Hutman and Xavier Hutman. She is survived by son John Hutman III; daughter Madge Moore, both of Independence, MO; daughter Margaret Keary and husband Phil, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Susan Hutman, Overland Park, KS; son Matt Hutman and wife Sherry, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughters Kay Edwards and husband Dave, Harrisonville, MO; Gerri Hutman-Becker and husband John, Kansas City, MO; daughter-in-law Diane Hutman, Blue Springs, MO; son-in-law Larry Benson, Raytown, MO; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
