Lemuel E. "Lem� Hutton, Jr., 79, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Medical Center of Independence. Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Enterprise Bank & Trust to purchase a bench at Bennet Springs in Lem�s name. Lem was born October 2, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Lemuel E. and Violet (Briscoe) Hutton, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having proudly served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. His passion in life was fly fishing. He was a certified instructor for Orvis and was known internationally in the sport. Mr. Hutton was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He was the past Chairman of the MO Geological Society and had been on the City Council of Independence. Lem was a member of Noland Road Baptist Church. Mr. Hutton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Johnston) Hutton; daughters Kem Elkhatib and husband Ibrahim, Eliza Dunnam and husband Doug, Amy Ledford and husband Bill; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Robert D. Hutton, Charles E. Hutton and John R. Hansford.
