Roseann was born July 8, l924, in Independence, Missouri, and departed this life October 6, 2005, in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Robert L. Iles, her son Robert W. Iles, daughter-in-law, Brenda, grandson Robert A. Iles, his wife Margaret, granddaughter Lauren Iles, great-grandson Robert B. (Bailey) Iles, beloved sister Mary Angell, brother Gerald Lynn as well countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob and Roseann were transferred from Independence, Mo., to New Orleans, La., with General Electric in the summer of 1967. Although she hated being away from her family, she learned to love the "Mardi Gras parades and made many life-long friends. Roseann worked for American Greeting Cards for many wonderful years but when Bob retired, they decided to go back home to Independence to spend more time with family. They settled off of Noland Road in the Tomashaw subdivision where they hosted family birthday parties, informal get-togethers with neighbors, and weekly card games with brother Jerry, sister-in-law Marion, and sister Mary. Roseann often persuaded Mary to spend entire weekends with her where they would browse the neighborhood for garage sales, play cards, watch the Chiefs games, and attend Sunday Mass together. Roseann will be taken home to Independence, Missouri for services and burial. Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2005, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th at 291 Highway, Independence, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at 10:00 am, in the chapel with burial immediately following in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
