Howard D. Imhof, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away February 27, 2005. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, March 2nd at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 Lexington Ave, with interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Chapel. Howard was born March 18, 1923 in Cherokee, KS to Fred and Martha Imhof. He was a carpenter for more than 35 years, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #119 in Cherokee, KS. He served in the 157th Tank Battalion in Africa and Italy during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart, Croix de Guerre with Palm, and the Good Conduct Medal. Howard was preceded in death by Betty Jean, his beloved wife of 54 years; his parents; sister, Juanita Johnson; and brothers, Ernest and Glen Imhof. He is survived by his daughters, Elaine Powers and husband Michael of Kansas City, MO, Deborah Turner and husband Bill of Waynesville, MO, Dana Christian and husband Steven of Kansas City, MO, and Nancy Curtin and husband James C. of Kearney, MO; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard J Imhof, Clyde E. Imhof and wife Rosalea both of Cherokee, KS.
