Lawrence J. Ireland

Lawrence J. Ireland, 84, of Raytown, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at New Hope Christian Church, 5704 Norfleet, Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Lawrence was born February 19, 1922 in Cincinnatti, IA to Lawrence Benjamin and Delca Buryl (Henderson) Ireland, one of twelve children. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Mr. Ireland retired from General Motors in 1980 after 40 plus years of service. Lawrence also owned and operated Ireland and Loughery Body Shop on 50 Highway. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time together at the family farm or out fishing. Mr. Ireland is survived by his wife Bea Ireland; children Larry D. "Dave� Ireland and wife Carolyn, Debora Young and husband Marshall, Dennis Ireland and wife Connie, Kathy Beck, Sandra Ireland; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step-sons; brother Paul Ireland, sister Patricia Clapp; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma in 1984; 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
