Iris Marlene Logeman, 90 of Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Kansas City Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kansas City Hospice who provided compassionate care and comfort to Iris and her family. Visitation will be held at 10:00 with Memorial services immediately following at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St S, Independence, Missouri 640555. Iris was born March 28, 1934, in Vancouver, BC to George and Viola (Sandry) Miller and spent her early life in Canada where her love of piano became central to who she was. She was also an outstanding vocalist, performing in school productions as well as church. Her family moved to Independence when she was 16 years old where she graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1952. In her high school years, she was a sought- after vocalist singing at many weddings and services in the Independence area. Iris married Bruce Logeman on November 23rd, 1957. She was an accomplished pianist and a widely respected and award-winning piano teacher, instructing students from all over the metropolitan area for over 60 years. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking and especially spending time with her expanding family. Bruce and Iris spent the last 3 years residing at Kingswood Senior Living where they quickly became loved members of that community. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 66 years Bruce Logeman, sister Audrey (Wayne) Custead and brother Floyd (Patricia) Miller. She is survived by her children, Stephen Andrew (Maureen), Scott Logeman (April), Jennifer Shoemaker (Greg), and Matthew Logeman (Jennifer); 10 grandchildren, Eric Andrew (Melanie), Lauren Richardson (Mike), Brandy Cooper, Chelsi Tullos (Chad), Ellis Logeman (Stephanie), Aubrey Troiola (Angelo), G. Curtis Shoemaker (Jaycee), Nickolas Logeman, Oliver Logeman, and Brooklynn Logeman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
