Merylene Irvine, 72, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed February 27, 2020.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Presentation, Lee’s Summit, MO. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Merylene was born August 6, 1947 in Pittsburg, KS. She lived in Lee’s Summit MO. Merylene graduated from Van Horn High School in 1965. Merylene was caring and loving person and family was very important. She never knew a stranger and always had a sweet smile on her face. She was a member of Our Lady of Presentation Catholic church in Lee’s Summit, Mo. During her earlier years she had worked as executive assistant for a local law firm and at Marion Merrell Dow and retired as the co-owner of City Scrap Metal in Lee’s Summit. Merylene married Brian Irvine on September 16, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Terry Baldwin, father Merrill C. Drake, mother Bettie E. Veit, step-father Melvin G. Veit and brother Terry W. Drake.
She is survived by her husband Brian Irvine, daughter Tracy McElligott (Tim); grandchildren Keely and Conor McElligott, daughter Michelle Belmore (Bret); grandchildren, Joey, Jack, Luke and Lainey Belmore, sisters Leesa Gavin – Holden Mo, Regina O’Hare (Jim) – Independence, MO., Cynthia Mendenhall (Rick)– Lee’s Summit, MO. Fran Johnson – Lake Ozark, Mo,, brothers Robert Drake (Sheila) – Blue Springs, MO., Dale Drake (Jesse)– Kansas City, Mo, Merrill C. Drake Jr (Vickie)– Little Rock, AR and Greg Veit (MaryEtta) – Enid, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
