Mary Louise Jackson Comer
Mary Louise Jackson Comer, 90, of Independence died April 9, 2006 at a local hospital. Mary will lie in state at the Northern Boulevard Methodist Church on Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Mo. She was born on April 7, 1916 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Ralph and Minnie Christine (Carter) Goudelock. She moved to Indpependence in 1956 and worked as Head of Unit Stock Control for Wards for 24 years retiring in 1983. Mary loved to play the piano and organ and began playing for her church at the age of nine. She enjoyed sewing, canning, reading, flower gardening and crafts of all kinds. She was a member of Northern Boulevard Methodist Church, Eastern Star #329, and United Methodist Women. Mary married Lewis Jackson on August 3, 1934 in Ozark, Missouri and he predeceased her on February 21, 1967. She married Vernon Comer in Independence on April 29, 1979 and he predeceased her in May of 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lewis Jackson Jr. in February of 1995 and by a daughter, Jean "Jeannie� Wagener in August of 1996. Survivors include: Three daughters, Sue Hayes and husband William of Independence, Mo.; Mary Hippensteel and husband Robert of Buckner, Mo., and Patricia Hippensteel of Paso Robles, California; a son, Jerry Jackson and his wife Marilynn of Independence, Mo., fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Frances Wise of Springfield, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Elevator Fund at Northern Boulevard Methodist Church, 1800 S. Northern, Independence, Missouri.
