Debra Mason "Debbie" Jackson (Deer)

July 26, 1956 — August 14, 2019

Debra Mason Jackson, 63, Sibley, MO passed away Wednesday, August 14th after her courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation services will be Monday, August 19th 6:00-8:00 PM at Buckner Speaks Chapel. The memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 20th 10:00 AM at the Speaks Suburban Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will take place in Buckner Hill Cemetery.
Debbie was born July 26, 1956 to Sally Marshall and George Deer in Arkansas City, KS. They then moved to Independence, MO with her sisters Kendra and Shannon. At the age of 16 they moved to Sibley, MO and left the Chrisman district and she graduated from Fort Osage in 1974.
She met her husband and love of her life, Steven Jackson at Osage Honey Farm Drive In in Sibley. They were married November 22, 1975. As their love grew so did their family and they had 2 daughters, Sara and Emily.
Debbie was a beloved sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, and Mimi. She was a nature lover, she loved the water whether it was a creek to stick her toes in or a pool to swim in, she enjoyed taking care of her beautiful flowers like her mother did, camping, horses, riding their motorcycle, she loved music, she was a kid at heart who always created fun for the people, especially the children around her and she was truly one of the most loyal fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, like her father.


Debbie loved working as a para at Buckner Elementary which she did for a few years she then returned to banking where she was a bookkeeper for Central Bank of Missouri for more than 20 years.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Steven Jackson of Sibley, MO. Her daughter Sara and her husband Jarvis and children Mattie and Blake of Buckner, MO. Her daughter Emily and her husband Jacob and children Jackson, Trenton and Bennett of Sibley, MO. She loved them grandly and adored being a mimi.
She is also survived by her sister Kendra and husband Dennis VanTuyl of Independence, MO and her sister Shannon and husband Herbert of Pilot Grove, MO.
While her family and friends will miss her beyond words we know we will see this amazing, beautiful soul in heaven again one day. She truly was a light for so many.
