Janis Jackson

Janis Rae “J.J.” Jackson, 66, of Independence, passed away peacefully in her home after a 15-month battle with glioblastoma on Friday, November 9, 2018. A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 23rd at 5:00pm at the Elk’s Lodge, 100 NE Brizendine, Blue Springs, MO 64014. She was born February 1, 1952, in Independence, MO to Lauren and Edwina (Moore) Jackson.
J.J. enjoyed bowling, playing golf, being in the sun and spending time with her family. She had 7 nephews and nieces that she spoiled and loved as her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lauren and Edwina Jackson. She is survived by her brother, Jim Jackson and his daughters, Marie, Marisa, Allison and Annie; sister, JoEllen Benefiel (Mark) and their son, Nathan; and sister, Julie Schnurbusch (Chris) and their sons, Jackson, and Harrison.
