Lyle E. Jackson, of Independence, MO, passed away on October 21, 2004 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association. Lyle was born on June 15, 1918 in Woodbine, Iowa to James and Adah E. Jackson. After serving for 8 years in the U.S. Navy, he worked as an electrician for the Independence Regional Health Center, where he retired after 25 years of service. After retirement, volunteering became his passion. He volunteered for Vista, The National Forestry Service and Respite Care for the City of Independence. Mr. Jackson was a Priest and Bishop�s agent in the RLDS church. He loved fishing, collecting and fixing antique clocks and playing his banjo and dulcimer. Lyle was preceded in death by one son, Ronald C. Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marcella L. Jackson; one son, Lyle Roger Jackson; three daughters, Patricia A. Oldham, Pam M. Brown and Ginny S. Hart; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Lyle was known as having a very positive attitude, which was contagious to those around him.
