Marcella Lorayne Jackson, 93, Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014.
Marcella was born October 31, 1920 in Logan, IA the daughter of John C. and Gertrude M. (Smith) Carlile. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Inner City Freight Line and later worked for the Independence Sanitarium. She completed her LPN training while at the Sanitarium. Marcella also worked for the Independence School District as a school nurse. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. Marcella and her husband enjoyed traveling and together they spent time as campground hosts for the National Parks Service and tagging birds for the Audubon Society. She also enjoyed china painting, tatting and love being with her family.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Jackson; sons, Roger and Ronnie Jackson; sister, Neva McCurley; and brothers, Jack and Earl Carlile.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia A. Oldham and husband Bob, Pam M. Brown and husband Bob; Ginny S. Hart and husband Dan; grandchildren, Glenn and Danny Jackson, James and Brad Oldham, Paul Hill, Kim Neuberger, Elton and Levi Hart; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Elda Mader; sister-in-law Ethel Carlile; and brother-in-law, John Mader; and additional family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
