Jacob "Jake" Lewis Nestell, born on March 24, 1990, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 34. Jake was the beloved son of Shannon Marshall (Kyle Avondet) and Brent Nestell and the cherished grandson of Jeanie Nestell, Cliff Nestell, and Karen Boyle - Richey. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Marshall and his aunt Ashley Davidson.
Jake was the devoted father of Madelynn Nestell (8) and William Nestell (7), who were the light of his life. He never let a day go by without reminding Madelynn how beautiful she looked, and was always sure to let William know that he was his little man. Jake loved spending time with his family and always prioritized creating joyful memories with them. Whether it was camping, fishing, or enjoying family-friendly outings, Jake’s dedication to his loved ones was unwavering.
As the oldest brother to Jessica Alteri (Daniel Alteri), Joel Quinn (Brianne Quinn), and Julian Quinn (Robert Minks), Jake embraced his role with love and care. He also shared a special bond with his dog, Sadie Girl, who was a constant companion in his life.
Jake was an uncle to seven nieces and nephews, Gaberiel Alteri, Vivienne Alteri, Lacey Quinn, Jade Minks, Robert (Henry) Minks, Lincoln Minks, Ivory Minks. Jake took great pride in making memories and sharing traditions with them.
Jake had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed watching football with his mom, savoring home-cooked meals (while never hesitating to offer honest feedback), and being outdoors. His hardworking nature and selfless spirit defined him. Known for his kindness, loyalty, and generosity, Jake had an uncanny ability to see the good in everyone he met. Whether it was offering help to a stranger or sparking a conversation with anyone he encountered, Jake’s warmth left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Jake’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his legacy of love and kindness bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
A celebration of Jake's life will be held on Sunday, January 12th at 10am at the Chapel Oaks Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6245 Monticello Rd Shawnee, KS 66226.
