Robert Donald “D.J.” Jacobs, 67, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 4, 2015. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Sunday, Dec. 6 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Graveside service will be 11 am, Monday at Mound Grove Cemetery. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society Greater Kansas City Chapter. D.J. was born March 2, 1948 in Independence, MO and lived there most of his life. He was a carpenter and worked for the Carpenter’s Union. He was also U.S. Army veteran and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed painting, playing harmonica and enjoying life to the fullest.. D.J. was preceded in death by daughters Julie Dawn Jacobs and Linda Christine Jacobs. He is survived by daughter Leslie Jacobs, Ogden UT; sons Hunter & Daltin Jacobs; sister Dana Robinett, all of Independence, MO; granddaughter Danielle Christensen, Ogden, UT; great-grandchildren Zander & Olivia and nephew Tom Bedsworth, Jr., wife Vicky and their five children.
