Betty Jean James

Betty Jean James, 78, Independence, MO passed away Monday June 14, 2004 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 pm, Sat., June 19, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial in Mt Washington Cemetery. Betty was born December 19, 1925 in Blackwater, MO to Morris and Bessie (Adams) Hillen. Mrs. James was a former co-owner of Hill�s Florist Greens with her husband Sam. Betty spent her life focused on the needs and care of her family. She was intensely interested in NASCAR racing and was a devoted Dale Earnheart Sr. fan. Mrs. James is survived by her daughter Connie James of the home, sons Joseph James and wife Sherri of Fontana, CA, Lawrence James and wife Penny of Independence, MO; grandchildren David James (Jennifer), Jason James (Cherese), Jennifer James, December Godoy-Pahulu, Wally Godoy, Michael, Mandy and Jennifer Hopkins; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Doris Hillen. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Sam J. James in 1998 and an infant daughter Roselinda in 1953.
