James Nathaniel Denton passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on May 6, 1953, in Jackson County, Missouri, and his journey through life was marked by dedication to his family and his work.
A graduate of Fort Osage High School, James spent most of his professional life at a chemical plant, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment until his retirement in the early 2000’s.
James was a true family man, he cherished every moment he spent with loved ones. His personality, described as quiet, reserved and loyal, solidified his role as a pillar of support for those around him.
In his leisure time, James pursued various hobbies that demonstrated his skills and interests. He was an avid deer and squirrel hunter, finding joy in the tranquility of nature. His love for guns was complemented by his talent as a leather worker and carpenter, showcasing his abilities as a jack of all trades. James enjoyed watching classic television shows such as "The Rifleman" and "Married with Children," often sharing these moments with friends and family, which brought warmth and laughter into their lives.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship. He was too good for this world and we were blessed to have him in our lives.
A visitation will be held on February 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM. Both events will take place at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we hold dear the memories of James and the impact he made on everyone he met.
James is survived by his son, Kip Denton; daughter, Vivian Eads (Michael); grandson, Garett Gibbs; and siblings, Roger, Chester and Shirley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Eula (Doss) Denton and siblings, Bill, Craig and Arlene.
