Born April 19, 1944, son of Harold James and Francis Margaret Temple. James was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother John M. Temple.
He attended Mt. Washington Elementary and was a graduate of Van Horn high School. He was an eagle scout and played football in school. He served his country by serving in the Navy doing three tours in Vietnam.
He retired from Ford Motor Company as a supervisor after 30 years. He was a proud member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Wa Wa Shriners.
James is survived by two nieces Lisa Temple Young and Shelley Temple Kneuvean, three great nephews; Austin Temple, Sean Temple (Cora), and Alex Kneuvean (Makayla), three great nieces Katie Poke (Travis), Jenny Pulse (Jeremy), and Anna Kneuvean, 6 great-great nieces; Raylee Poke, Analise Poke, Ayanna Poke, Josie Pulse, Jayden Temple, Hailie Echiler and, Harlee Temple, as well as three great-great nephews Travis Poke Jr., River Temple, and Glenn Kneuvean.
He was a friend to all who loved fishing and motorcycles a passion he shared with his brother. He was part of getting the cannon honoring Veterans in Sugar Creek Missouri.
James passed Wednesday November 29, 2023. James was a Christian and was baptized at Fairmount Christian Church. A celebration of Life Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 12 to 2pm at Speaks Funeral home in Englewood and a graveside service with military honors following at Higginsville Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 3pm.
