Victoriano Valdez Jarquio, 89, of Raytown (formerly of Salina, KS), passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born on November 7, 1932 in Manila, Philippines.
Victor grew up poor in the Philippines during World War II but was able to finish a degree in Civil Engineering attending Mapua Institute of Technology. He applied his engineering skill designing and building roads and bridges in Saudi Arabia. He was an OFW for nine years only going back home one month out of the year while raising a family of four boys. He was able to immigrate his family to Salina, Kansas while working with Wilson and Company. He has accomplished a great deal designing many bridges and overpass structures in Kansas and retiring as a Professional Engineer. He will be remembered for his immense love for his wife and family, good sense of humor, passion for gardening and his impressive intelligence with numbers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nicasio and Anacleta (Valdez) Jarquio; his wife Salvacion (Ramirez) and brother Ramon Jarquio.
Survivors include his children, Vinci and Ines of Waipahu, HI, Ferdinand and Helen of Independence, MO, Adlai and Frency of Raytown, MO, and Noel and Rosalyn of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren, Kristopher, Nicanor, Arielle, Christine, Victoria, Samantha, Lindsay, Jordan, Jessica, and Jason; 10 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Khloe, Maya, Kobe, Logan, Karah, Hollis (Jarquio-Dang), Max, Mariana, Jaiden (Hightower).
Visitation will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, February 25, 2022 (Rosary at 5:30 P.M) at the Speaks Suburban Chapel
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church.
The Mass will also be live streamed.
Burial will be held following at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
