Jeanie Ann McCoy, 64, of Independence, MO, passed away June 2, 2023, in her home. She was born on September 21, 1958, in Landstuhl Germany to Quenton McCoy and Lore Geis. Jeanie loved animals and nature more than anything else in life. She was an animal advocate and would often feed stray cats, she was the kind of woman who would save even a snail. Jeanie grew all kinds of flowers and fruit trees; she could grow any seed she got her hands on. She loved to go running and was a vegetarian by choice. Jeanie was very independent and never afraid of a challenge. One of her biggest challenges was getting throat cancer, which she thankfully became a 20-year cancer survivor. She paid homage to her German culture often, whether it be cooking, baking, or speaking fluent German. Jeanie was very friendly, smart, and outgoing. People loved to be around her; she never knew a stranger.
Jeanie is survived by her sister Jill Weiterman (Matthew), brother Michael McCoy (Mary) , nephews and nieces; Justin Noel (Gracelynn Presley), Nicolas Noel, Jasmine McCoy, Pheonix McCoy, Dayton McCoy, and Emma McCoy, great nephews Benjamin Noel, Quenton Noel, Jaxon Noel, and Landyn Martensen, as well as her dog Cash, and cats Rainy and Sylvester.
A visitation will be held to honor Jean from 2-4 pm on Monday June 12, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th Independence, MO 64055).
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to your favorite no kill shelter in honor of Jeanie
