Robert Gene “Bob” Jenkins, 86, died peacefully on March 8, 2022, at home in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was born on May 24, 1935, in Oak Grove, Missouri, the son of Clarence and Gladys Jenkins.
Bob graduated from Blue Springs High School. He served in the United States Navy for four years, from 1952 to 1956, during the Korean conflict. After serving in the military, he married his beloved, Marguerite Axsom, and they settled in Independence, Missouri, where they raised their daughter, Carrie. They were married for 64 years. Bob worked for Bayer of Kansas City, where he retired after 30 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Angorona Masonic Lodge in Missouri City, and a member of the Kansas City Missouri Shriners.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Dean and Jimmy; and his beloved granddaughter, Caitlin Rose Cecala. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; daughter Carrie Jenkins; and great-grandson Zachary Cecala.
A funeral service to honor Bob will be held on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00 a.m., at Oakland United Methodist Church, 30701 E Truman Rd., Buckner, MO 64016. Bob will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Buckner, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA), on behalf of Caitlin Rose Cecala.
