Mathew LeRoy Jepson, Jr., 83 of Raytown, MO passed away, Sunday, December 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday December 7, 2006 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Raytown. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MO Conservation Dept. Mathew was born January 29, 1923 in Independence, MO and was a lifelong area resident. After attending William Chrisman High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Maryonne Eleanor Lewis in June 1944, worked at Standard Oil Company of Indiana until the mid 1950�s, and retired as a mail handler for the US Postal Service in 1985 after 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles and TV game shows. He leaves behind his wife, Maryonne, of 62 years, five children: Michael Jepson and his wife Diane, Houston, TX; Candice Foster of the home; Garry Jepson and wife Terry, Liberty, MO; Douglas Jepson and wife Janet, Oak Grove, MO; and Patricia Spencer and husband Mike, Bates City, MO; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
