Jerry Rimmer 82, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully and went to his eternal home Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on August 1, 1942 and was the son of Norman & Minnie Rimmer. He had one younger brother, Garland Rimmer. Jerry went on to have two sons, Jerry Jr. & Todd Rimmer while attending college at Central Missouri State University, The University of Kansas and then later graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After graduation he took a job with Mobile Oil out of Chicago and later had his youngest son, Ryan Rimmer. In 1978, he began selling heavy trucks for Midway Ford & celebrated over 20 faithful years there. During that time he met & married the love of his life, Wynema Small in 1989 where they enjoyed 35 wonderful years together.
Jerry loved to golf, fish, enjoyed many trips to Canada, turkey hunting in the Mark Twain National Park and hunting at the farm was one of his favorite times of the year. While in high school he played every sport, basketball, baseball, football, track & tennis. He loved watching the Chiefs and Royals but his favorite was Kansas Jayhawks basketball. When it came to traveling, his favorite vacations were the many cruises taken with his family and friends. Jerry had a great interest in watching the ups and downs of the stock market, he made some good investments and some not so good ones. It was always a learning experience for him but most of all, he enjoyed visiting family, his brother in Colorado and traveling to see the kids and grandkids.
Jerry loved the Lord and realized his need for a savior later in life. He loved to hear about Israel and what was going on over there with God's people.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Minnie Rimmer, his brother Garland Rimmer and one son, Jerry Jr. Rimmer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wynema Rimmer of their home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Two sons Todd Rimmer of MorganTown, Pennsylvania, Ryan Rimmer of Little Elm, Texas, and two stepchildren Brian Adams (Rebecca) of Hamilton, Montana and Tina Haskins (Jim) of Grain Valley, Missouri. He also left behind seven grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one on the way in December. He loved them all.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M with visitation at 10:00 A.M, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, MO. Graveside services and burial will be at the Bethel Campground Cemetery near Edwards, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Jerry Rimmer to the Bethel Church Fund and can be sent to Community National Bank & Trust in Warsaw, MO.
