Jesse Haze Blankenship, a beloved individual known for his dedication to his craft and his kindhearted nature, passed away on February 7, 2024, in Lee's Summit, MO. Born on February 14, 1945, at Conley Maternity Hospital in Kansas City, MO, Jesse's life was marked by hard work.
Jesse embarked on a successful career as a carpet layer, working tirelessly for many years at Kopp Carpet. However, Jesse's ambitions did not stop there. With unwavering dedication and an impeccable eye for detail, he chose to become a self-employed upholsterer. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence before embarking on his professional journey.
Jesse leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Hazel and Arby Hedrick; his father, Jesse W. Blankenship; brother, Kenneth Blankenship; son, Jamie Blankenship; as well as Sharon Anderson, who stood by his side as a long-time companion.
He is survived by his grandson, Josh Blankenship of Fairplay, MO, and the numerous relatives who will carry his legacy forward.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 PM on February 13, 2024 at Carson-Speaks Chapel located at 1501 W Lexington Ave in Independence, MO. Family and friends will gather to honor Jesse's memory and share heartfelt stories of the impact he made on their lives. As Jesse's soul finds peace in eternity, let us remember him fondly and forever hold him close in our hearts.
