Robert "Russell� Jimerson, 90 of Oak Grove, MO passed away Fri, Sep 8, 2006 at St. Mary�s Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Mon. Sep 11, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO with the visitation being held from 10 - 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association. Mr. Jimerson was born on Aug 30, 1916 to John and Anna (Overcast) Jimerson in Puryear, TN and has lived in the Independence area since 1963. Russell was a proud veteran of the US Army serving from 1940 until his retirement in 1963, he served during WWII throughout Europe, Africa, Korea and Japan. He had received the Legion of Merit award, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the European Theatre Ribbon with 8 Bronze Stars, the WWII Victory Medal, the Japan Occupation Ribbon, and the Germany Occupation Ribbon. The United Nations Medal, the national Defense Service Medal and the Cross of Military Valor. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Russell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lilo Jimerson of Oak Grove, MO ; a son, Rusty Jimerson; five daughters, Diana and Brian Ezechiels, Geanie and Danny Taylor and Patricia Jimerson all of Blue Springs, Linda and Tom Hamilton of Versailles, MO and Sabine and Michael Mauch of Stuttgart Germany. A brother Danny Jimerson of Buckner, eight grandsons and a granddaughter.
