Connie Kay John, of Lee’s Summit, MO, a loving wife and mother, passed away on August 29,
2022, within her home. She was 82. Connie was born on July 19, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, the
daughter of Joseph and Marcella (Poell) Kassick. After graduating from Loretto Academy and
the College of St. Teresa, she married her beloved husband Edward John, and together they
reared three sons in Independence, MO. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher, a
lover of books, an active member of the Independence PTA and Junior Service League, and an
award winning “Grammy.” Connie leaves behind her husband, Edward; son Scott (Kathy) John
of Hampton, GA and their children Ryan and Holly; son Kyle (Melissa Bondy) John of
Springfield, MO and their children Brennan and Garrett; son Chad (Jennifer) John of Ashland,
MO and their children Tristan, Tate, Jessica, and Trenton; sister Patty (Larry) Corrigan of
Overland Park, KS; sister Therese (Dennis) King of Overland Park, KS; and many loved nieces,
nephews, and cousins. A visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m., with a mass officiated by Fr. James
Healy immediately following, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Mark’s
Catholic Church, 3736 South Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO. Online condolences may
