John “Larry” Davis
John “Larry” Davis, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was 79 years of age.
Larry was born on January 4, 1944, in Meadowbrook, Illinois, the son of Morris Franklin and Mildred “Millie” (Baldwin) Davis. He was one of eight children.
Larry was a hard worker, who enjoyed watching action movies and old westerns, completing a crossword puzzle, and an avid sports fan, especially boxing. In his early years he would like to spend time bowling. Larry had a great faith but most of all he adored his family, he was happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Larry will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Christina Lafferty, Angela Bennett, Denise Niemeyer; grandchildren, Drew Lafferty, Brooke Rich, Danielle Castle, Bailey Roberts, Leah Niemeyer, Mara Niemeyer, Brody Niemeyer; great grandchildren, Trista Lafferty, Zoey Lafferty, Cash Lafferty; sisters, Shirley (L.B.) Sheets, Martha (Richard) Newman, Mary (Gary) Case, Rose (Larry) Owens; and many nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Millie Davis; brothers, Danny Davis, Wayne Davis, and Doug Davis.
A memorial visitation is planned for Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Missouri 64055. Family will greet guests between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
