Alice Johnson

Alice Marie (Herrell) Bayless Johnson, 96, formerly of Long Beach, CA, crossed over “into life” on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 at 2:23 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in Luff Auditorium at the Stone Church Community of Christ located at 1012 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64050 on Saturday, December 6th at 4:00 p.m. Alice Marie lived a full life serving God and her fellow man, enjoying the love and fellowship of family and friends, along with a successful career working for McDonnell Douglas/ Boeing in Long Beach, CA. She was an incredibly loving individual who had a heart of gold. She raised three younger siblings during the Great Depression while her widowed mother worked. She found herself widowed twice with both husbands dying of cancer. She had a beautiful voice and not only sang for years in her church choir, but also directed the choir for many years.
