Bonnie B. Johnson, 82, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 9, 2019. Services will be 10:00 am, Wed., Aug. 14 at Speaks Suburban Chapel.18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel.
Bonnie was born Jan. 31, 1937 in Clinton, MO. She graduated from Paseo High School before earning a degree from Baptist Bible College. She worked at Mercantile Bank in Kansas City as an administrative assistant for over twenty years. She was a Baptist and taught Kindergarten Sunday School at the K.C. Baptist Temple for twenty years. Most recently she attended Country Meadows Baptist Church. She and husband, George, lived in Hollister, MO from 2005 to 2012. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid reader of mysteries. She also loved traveling and camping. She was an excellent cook who baked pies and bread from scratch.
Bonnie was preceded in death by son David Allen Johnson, brothers Bobby Carbah, Harold Carbah, Ira Leroy Carbah, grandson Tyler Andrew Johnson. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years George Johnson, of the home; sons John Johnson and wife Kim, Blue Springs, MO; Dan Johnson, Liberty, MO sister Alice Hill, Belton, MO and five grandchildren.
