Edward Warner Johnson, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Lakewood Care Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel. Entombment in Mound Grove Mausoleum. Ed was born September 25, 1915 in Linn Creek, MO. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Ed was a member of the South Crysler Restoration Church and was an Elder in the Priesthood. Mr. Johnson enjoyed spending time gardening in his yard with flowers and growing tomatoes. Ed loved his family and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruthella (Newberry) Johnson; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and J.E. Lattin, Jana and Rick Oxenford, Dian and Tom Buckley; son and daughter-in-law Dean Johnson and Jacklyn Graber; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister Maleveen Chapman. Ed was preceded in death by his sister Helen Weir.
