Karen Eileen Johnson
Karen Eileen Johnson, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was 77 years of age. Karen had been fighting ALS for seven years.
Karen was born on July 12, 1944, the daughter of John and Ruth (Shaffer) Randall and was the seventh of eight children. Karen was born in Battlecreek, Michigan and at a young age her family moved to the Kansas City area. She enjoyed doing crafts and especially loved making beautiful greeting cards. In addition, Karen was a fantastic cook and baker. While volunteering as a Den Mother, Karen met her second husband and best friend, Dana Johnson. They married in 1979 and blended their two families. Together they were youth group leaders and volunteered in several other programs through the church. Karen’s heart was full of kindness and she was always doing for others. Karen will be greatly missed.
Karen is survived by her children, Timothy (Judy) Frisbey, Rick Frisbey, Pam (Robert) Beck; stepchildren, Thomas (Michelle) Johnson, Robert Johnson; grandchildren, Nathan, Stefanie, Johnny, Dustin, Tina, Zach, Chris, Hillary, Adriana, Anthony, Cody, Caleb and Cayden; great grandchildren, Jayden, Madison, Jonathan, Nicholas, Makenzie, Brooklyn, Talon and one on the way; siblings, Calvin Randall and Cynthia (Dale) Lamberty. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Randall; husband, Dana Johnson; granddaughter, Mindy; siblings, Richard Randall, Eloise Testerman, Lorena Wilcox, Daniel Randall and Johnny Randall.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday June 1, 2022, family will greet guest between the hours of 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday June 2, 2022, both to take place at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Interment will directly follow service. Karen will be laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.
