Marietta “Mary” Emma (Huhman) Johnson passed away peacefully at her home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on Monday, August 20, 2018 after her battle with cancer.

She grew up on a farm by the Osage River ,and graduated from St. Elizabeth R-IV Schools in 1971. Mary enjoyed working in crafts, including stained glass, sewing, and beadwork, and was an avid reader, collecting books and sharing them with family and friends. She treasured vacation time with family and friends, camping at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mary was always a cheerleader at her many nieces’ and nephews’ ballgames, plays, and special events, and every family gathering found her holding the babies. In the face of illness, she never lost her grace or optimism.

Also surviving are four sisters: Dianne (Gene) Heckemeyer, Elaine (Gary) Kempker, Jean (Tom) Howard, and Linda (Sam) Volmert; and four brothers: Joe (Lerilee), Tom (Teresa), Sam (Julie), and Pat (Cara) Huhman, along with 35 nieces and nephews, one step-daughter, and two grandchildren.
