Robert Earl Johnson, 73, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 19. 2015. Services will be 2 pm, Wed., Dec. 23 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel. The family requests contributions to Boy Scout Troop #228, 18105 E. 24th St. S., Independence, MO 64057. Bob was born Dec. 19, 1942 to Walter Sturdivan and Frances (Beller) Johnson in Glendale, California. He was an electrician and maintenance mechanic at Owens-Illinois Plastics Company for thirty-two years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a Sachem in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a huge sports fan of the Mavericks, auto racing, Royals, Chiefs and most other sports. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patty Sturdivan. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Margaret; son Derek and wife Deanna; grandchildren Jakob & Justen and Chloe; sister Lucy Twyman and husband Leroy; mother-in-law Betty Meals and many other family members.
