Worth C. Johnson, 74, of Independence, MO passed away on April 26, 2005 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A visitation will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Indep. MO. A Masonic Service will be held from 1:45-2:00 p.m. The funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Worth was born on August 14, 1930. He was in military service for 10 years, serving in the Korean War. He also worked for a number of years as a Kansas City motorcycle policeman. Worth retired from Remington Arms in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, Worth C. Johnson Sr. and Geneva Mae (Draper); and also his sister, Helen Marie Hester. Worth is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy Johnson; daughters, Carol Ann Johnson of Omaha, NE and Nancy and husband Mark Ballance of St. Louis, MO; stepchildren, Richard Reeves of Indep., MO, Shirley and husband Donald Harrison of Pittsburg, MO, Richard and wife Carol Harlin of Gladstone, MO, Vicki Evans of Collins, MS and Amy and husband Gary Covey of Richmond, MO; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
