Judy Kathryn (Gough) Joiner, 66, passed away on June 15, 2017.
A visitation will be held from 1-2pm, with memorial service at 2pm, both Sunday, June 18, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in her honor.
Judy was born on July 14, 1950, in Bryan, Texas, to Edmond Daniel Gough and Mary Ruth (Canady) Gough. She was a life-long resident of Bryan and Houston until her transition to the Kansas City area five years ago. She was a teacher, principal, and administrator for over 40 years for the Bryan ISD. She touched the lives of many, many children and was a patient and humble mentor to students and teachers alike. She enjoyed listening to the word of God at First Baptist Church as well as First United Methodist Church. Judy also loved to travel the country, and made so many precious memories with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her parents, E. Dan and Mary; daughter, Keana (Joshua) Frey; son, Daniel (Rebel) Strohmeyer; sisters, Sharon Oldaker, Danna Gough, and Janis (Bubba) Lero; fiancé, Larry Thompson and his children, Craig Thompson, Chad (Mandy) Thompson, and Kristen (Dena) Thompson; and 13 beloved grandchildren.
