Jon Christopher Shawver passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2024. Jon was born on January 24, 1968 to Jack and Judy (Hash) Shawver. He graduated in 1986 from Englewood Christian. Then, in 1993, he graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in education, going on to receive his Masters degree from University of Missouri. He began teaching at Oldham, and then went to Englewood Christian. He also coached soccer, basketball, and baseball. Then, in 2005, he started his career at Raymore Peculiar, where most of his years were at The Academy. He also devoted many years to coaching men's and women's soccer. He has had such a positive impact on many students, athletes, co-workers, and friends. Although he loved teaching and coaching, his love and pride came with his family. Just this summer, on June 11, he and his wife, Heather (Kuhnert) Shawver, celebrated 30 years of marriage. His biggest pride came with their two daughters, Elyssa and Jana, and all their accomplishments. He also coached them in soccer and softball in their younger years. Other surviving family members include Jack Shawver (father), Brian Shawver (brother), Jeff (Tami) Holland (brother), Rob Hoesly (brother), Bob Hoesly (step-father), Dolores Kuhnert (mother-in-law), Troy (Michelle) Kuhnert (brother-in-law), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by Judy Hoesly (mother), maternal and paternal grandparents, Dewayne Kuhnert (father-in-law), and Chris Miller (nephew-in-law).
