Billie Rose Jones, 63, Buckner, MO passed away June 16, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Wed., June 21, 2006 at Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, MO; interment at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at Speaks Buckner Chapel.
Billie was born Dec. 6, 1942 in Sibley, MO and was a lifelong resident of the Buckner-Sibley area. She and her husband owned and operated Echo Realty in Buckner. She graduated from Fort Osage High School and received an associate degree from Longview Community College.
Billie loved her community and always stood ready to serve it any way she could, including the Buckner Board of Aldermen and as President of the Buckner Chamber of Commerce. Billie was one of the organizers of the Buckner Women�s Civic Club in the early 1960�s. She was voted 2005 Buckner Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. For many years she performed with her sisters as The Kimbrell Sisters. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Belt, the nurses and staff of The Kansas City Cancer Center for their care of Billie for the past 5 1/2 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Lela Kimbrell and is survived by her husband James "Jim� Jones, of the home; daughter Angela Streker and husband Richard, St. George, UT, and their children Race, Kimbrelyn and Carly, Richard�s daughter Nicole and her son Cameron; stepchildren and grandchildren Dana Markel and husband Matt, Omaha, NE, and her sons Gage and Cale Rohwer; Gary Jones, Raytown, MO; Karen Stoverink and her husband Bill, St. Louis, MO and their children Katie and Brian; Janette Bowles and and husband Chad, Overland Park , KS; sisters Wanda Clark and Leta Barnhill; brother James "Jim� Kimbrell, all of Buckner, MO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
