Bryan L. Jones, 54, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Bryan was born in Independence on March 12, 1958 to parents Ralph and Doris (Sens) Jones who sadly preceded him in death at an early age. He and his siblings were later welcomed into the home of Homer and Nancy (Southers) Jones along with their three children. Bryan enjoyed spending time with his family outdoors; including going on nature hikes, bird watching, hunting, fishing, and camping. Bryan was also an excellent woodworker and craftsman; he created beautiful works of art including birdhouses, furniture and decorative pieces. Bryan’s family will miss him dearly. He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Julie Jones; son Jason Jones - his wife Christi; daughter DeAnna Jett; sister June (Jones) Turner - her husband Ron and sister Monica Jones; three adored grandchildren, Connor Jones and Chase and Emme Jett; close relatives Homer and Nancy Jones, Janet, Sharon, and Larry; mother-in-law, Wilma; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Indep., MO, 64055. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bryan’s memory to Powell Gardens at powellgardens.org 816-697-2600 x 238.
